A couple of weeks ago the weather was the ideal balance between spring and summer. It was warm enough to enjoy being outside yet not too hot and humid to make it miserable. I had been itching to get back into the park so I laced up my sneakers and headed out on an adventure. I decided to cut through the neighborhood to see if I could find a path I hadn’t traveled yet. I struck gold and wound up on the Normanstone Trail a path that is off of Rock Creek Parkway. It was lush and cool under the canopy of trees yet not secluded enough to make me feel unsafe. I ventured toward Georgetown until I came upon Dumbarton Oaks. Dumbarton Oaks is the type of place where I could find myself spending hours soaking in nature and writing poetry. The park is currently undergoing renovation and as far as I can tell is still one of those quiet hidden treasures in D.C. Here are some photos that I took of my trek.
